#344 – Spotlight On: Star Trek – Generations

Fire up the holodeck, button up your chest flap, and get ready…the Empire or Jedi Trek-Cast is back! It’s 78 years later, and despite Kirk and Co flying off into the sunset (literally), the old Shat-Man has found a way into the Next Generation by way of a plot contrivance called “The Nexus”. Yep…despite The Next Generation winning the hearts of all of Trekdom and winning multiple Emmys in the process, Paramount Pictures couldn’t resist the urge to “pass the baton”, needlessly shoehorning in everyone’s favorite Captain into a world where he didn’t belong.

Set phasers to “WTF?!”

I’m your host and Captain, David Snider, and joining me as we try to answer the question “Is it Live or is it Nexus?” are fellow crewmembers Lt. Commander Chad Griner and Ensign Nick Goathoof.

Topics of discussion in this episode include the proper pronunciation of “Data”; Victorian-era clothing makes a comeback; and finally, we discuss the unceremonious end of Captain James T. Kirk…and the resulting cover up by Jean-Luc Picard.
