#334 – The League of Disappointing Franchises

When will Hollywood learn? It seems like that’s been a statement we’ve been hearing more and more frequently lately. For every step forward (Wonder Woman), it seems they quickly take two steps back (The Mummy). Maybe they figure they’re maintaining some sort of twisted cinematic equilibrium? Well, whatever their reasoning, let’s hope that at least one of these studios will learn from their mistakes (and their successes).

And please, for the love of God, make sure Tom Cruise stays in IMF where he belongs. Ethan Hunt has no business messing around with ancient Egypt. That’s Brendon Fraser’s job.

I’m your host, David Snider, and joining me this week are fellow nerds Jonathan Hinckley, Cody Eastlick, and Ryan Caldwell.

Topics of discussion in this episode include cutting overhead at Empire or Jedi podcast studios; Jon manages to control himself (for the most part) as he watches Gal Gadot kick ass in No-Man’s-Land; and finally, Tom Cruise’s The Mummy manages to make Empire or Jedi history as Cody bestows it with an infamous new rating.
